Deportivo 4 - Notvery 0

Right, we lost 4 - 0, again. For match report simply read virtually any of the match reports I've written on here.

We can be better than this I'm sure and I think fitness is the key as well as a bit of confidence on the ball from us weaker players. If we want to put up any kind of fight in this league we need some training. I personally would be more than willing to give up my monday night to do such a thing and plan to make some effort either way. I think the training would need to include fitness work and a bit of basic ball control and passing, nothing clever just the basic stuff and I'm hoping Rob K will be able to help with some basic training techniques, if not with anger management. We don't need to get much better to start winning, especially against teams in the lower end of the league, so how about we give it a go?

I know I say this kind of thing a lot on here, but if enough people are interested in training on monday night I'll get it organised. But I need to know if people are going to be dedicated to showing every week, otherwise I end up looking like a plank.

Would be at molescroft park to start with, however, if we get enough regulars and when the kids break up from school we would probably be able to get longcroft.

If people aren't interested we can just carry on getting beat every week, you've paid your money so it's up to you how you want to spend your 24 minutes on a wednesday.

Hmmm...

What can you say about a 12-1 defeat??

I turned up a couple of minutes before kick off to assume my role as team photojournalist but was counting team members as i walked towards the pitch, i was only counting to five.

Therefore i had to put the team before personal pain and don Rob's trackky bottoms and a Hull shirt which just felt wrong (maybe it was just that i'm not as svelte as i once was and the shirt left little to the imagination).

Reservoir Trogs were the oppo, a full team of stupidly fit army boys with their own minibus and manager with clipboard. It didn't look good.

I assumed the role of centre half as i wasn't gonna be running anywhere fast. Colin sat alongside me, Dave and Chris G were in midfield, Rob led the line and Luke took hold of the gloves.

We started fairly poorly, didn't get a lot better, i got even more injured contesting a header, lost what mobility i did have and the goals began to flow.

And flow and flow and flow.

These boys were good, and pretty much everything they hit found the corner of our net. We are claiming the best goal of the match, a sweeping move with most of the team playing their part before Rob converted to join Dave and Huggins as top scorer. Scant consolation, but we had to take any positives we could.

It is Deportivo next week, and we are in need of a perfomance and some commitment from team members to boost our ailing morale. Tom, Rob where were you?? Paul (working) and Will (Glasto) are excused this time.

If all that fails we at least need to make sure we have a bit of a sesh in the pub after to drown our sorrows.

Calendar Updated

For what it's worth i've added all the fixtures left this season to the Calendar with times.

So we have no excuse for not knowing kick off times.

***Breaking News***
Key member attracted away by the bright lights of York
***Breaking News***

Alex Howland, who has played for us since the very beginning, has hung up his Notvery shirt. The good news is he may be playing for a team in York, which means some friendlies may be in the offing. Hurrah!

So many thanks to Alex for all the effort he has put in, make sure you keep practicing those pirouettes!

Pics from AJ's v Notvery and tiny match report

First up, a few comments from Rob K, who actually seems to know a bit about this game:

Hey Will,

A Few Points:

Good Defending- great blocks & tackling
All 3 goals from long balls- no one can head a ball!!
Great passing performance
Too much passing not enough shooting!!
Dave not hitting the target from 4 yards out and me shanking the ball ten feet past the post!!

Hope this helps- by the way great photo and video coverage on the site love
it!

Rob

Second up some pics:

As i'm out of the team for a week or two I (Chris H, credit where credit's due. ED.) turned my hand to a bit of photojournalism...

third up, some videos:

Fourth up the Report:

Unfortunately we again had a depleted squad for a number of reasons. Chris H with a broken/bruised rib after a high velocity encounter with a rather large gentleman in last weeks match, Alex H was having far too much fun at work to join us and Colin had something else to do.So up went the bat signal for Rob K to help us out for the second week on the trot, and help us out he did. Rob G has also returned to us on a 1 season loan from the pubs of Manchester.
Final score 3 - 0 to AJ's.
We played well but got beat, better than last week, ok till fatigue set in. Same old, same old. You get the idea. I think I'll let Chris H's excellent work above tell the picture, with pictures.

Additional:
thankyou to all who have paid up already. Every person that has played have paid their fees, good stuff guys.
